The report presents the effects of two methods of anaesthesia (with analgetics and with inhaled isoflurane) on circulatory haemodynamics in patients operated on for ischaemic heart disease. In the years 1994-1995 the study included 65 patients. Circulatory haemodynamics was assessed with Swan-Ganz catheter. Continuous ECG and enzyme investigations were also used to detect ischaemic changes in the myocardium. The results seem to suggest that anaesthesia with isoflurane is more effective in stabilising circulation.
