Abstract
A case of 56-years old patients is described in whom the preliminary diagnosis of the squamous epithelial cell carcinoma of the palatine tonsil was made. Histopathological examination of the excised tonsil proved it to be Besnier-Boeck-Schaumann disease (sarcoidosis). This is rarely a fatal disease which should be treated with steroids; then the spontaneous remissions reach up to 90 per cent.
