Abstract
Background: To study the correlation between clinical disease activity and serum malonyl dialdehyde concentration in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus.
Material/Methods: 45 patients with SLE were studied. Clinical disease activity was assessed by the Liang scale and patients were categorized as inactive (Liang score 1-10), active (Liang score 11-20), and highly active (Liang score > 20). Serum malonyl dialdehyde was measured according to the Placer, et al, method in uM/ml.
Results: Serum malonyl dialdehyde concentration correlated with clinical disease
Keywords: malony dialdehyde, SLE
